MLK Spaghetti

This is a recipe from my sister-in-law Julie's family. It's one of their family favorites and something Michael requested that I learn to make for about 3 years before I ever did. It's so good and is a great leftover meal. This makes 6-8 servings depending on portion size. I freeze enough for two in ziplocks so we can pull it out later. It's amazing how great it reheats.

1 lb ground beef
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
32 oz diced tomatoes
6 oz can tomato paste
1 can mushrooms, drained (sometimes I leave this out bc we are not mushroom lovers)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
dash of thyme
1 Tbsp dried parsley
1 bay leaf

Brown ground beef with pepper and onion. Pour off grease. Add rest of ingredients and cook for hours. Serve over angel hair pasta.
