My wonderfully generous Uncle has started what I hope will be a yearly tradition. Instead of money or presents, he gives us a smoked boston butt for Christmas. Michael swears his BBQ is the best he's ever had! We just freeze it until we are ready for it and then cook it at 300 degrees for 3 hours and it falls apart. I love the smokey flavor! He also makes his own BBQ sauce, which I think is the BEST part!
So we were traditional and had a slice of white bread, fried okra, and green beans with it. I buy my okra for frying at Ole Timey meat market, it's already breaded and it's the best!
