My sister gave me this amazing gadget for Christmas. It's the Cuisinart Flavor Duo Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker. We eat ice cream almost every night in the Long household, so this was perfect! You can just do one side or you can do both, and you can do different flavors in each side! You can even make frozen drinks.
For the vanilla, I just used the recipe in the book that came with it, but I will get more creative as time goes by. This vanilla was good and creamy and homemade tasting!
3/4 cup whole milk, well chilled
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups heavy cream, well chilled
1 tsp vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and sugar until sugar is dissolved, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla to taste. Turn the machine on, pour mixture into freezer bowl, and let mix until thickened about 20-25 minutes. SOOOOO GOOOOD!
