I love a big fat cookie, but I also love these thin chocolate chippers. I guess I just love it all!
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together flour and baking soda in a small bowl; set aside. Put butter and sugars in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment; mix on medium speed until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce speed to low. Add salt, vanilla, 1/4 cup water, and the eggs. Mix until combined, about 1 minute. Add flour mixture and mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop heaping tablespoon-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheets. Bake cookies, rotating sheets halfway through, until golden brown (20 minutes). Let cool on baking sheet on wire rack for 1-2 minutes and then transfer cookies to wire rack to cool completely.
